Background:

Founded in 2022 by Marc Pollack and Aaron Goldman, the Atlanta Preservation Initiative (API) is a quarterly event designed to enhance the capabilities of sponsors within the affordable housing sector. API serves as a comprehensive platform that unites stakeholders from across the affordable housing ecosystem, facilitating networking, mentorship, and the exchange of knowledge and resources. While fostering a community of industry practitioners, the primary objective of API is to build the capacity of sponsors who are focused on preserving affordable housing in greater Atlanta.

Our Mission:

The primary goal of API is to address the pressing need for affordable housing in the city of Atlanta. By convening a diverse group of stakeholders, including investors, developers/sponsors, lenders, brokers and community leaders, API aims to develop actionable strategies that will preserve and expand affordable housing options.

Monthly Programming:

Education in seminal topics related to how to increase the supply of affordable and workforce housing including access to capital, transaction structuring, raising equity and debt, packaging and presentations.

  • Panel Discussions: Industry experts share their experiences and insights on various aspects of real estate transactions and affordable housing.
  • Workshops: Interactive sessions focused on practical solutions and emerging trends in the real estate market.
  • Networking Opportunities: Dedicated time for attendees to connect, collaborate, and build lasting relationships.
Get Involved:

Join us at our next API meeting to be part of this impactful ecosystem. In 2024, we convened over 240 stakeholders and are excited to continue building our community in 2025. Together, we will make a difference in preserving and expanding affordable housing in Atlanta.
